My baby's so far away!

Madeline (Maddy) feels very far away to me. Maybe because we know we can't get her before September. It's pretty hard to look at her picture or look at Gwen (who is nearly the same age as Maddy) and not think about her and wonder what she's doing and if she's happy. I feel like we're missing so much of her babyhood!

But it does feel good to know that she's in foster care. At least she's got a mom. I hope her foster mother is warm and loving and our little girl is getting lots of attention.

I totally understand! When you get those pictures, waiting just seems unreasonable! It's a new level of impatience. But it will be worth it!

Hi Donna. I am sure little Maddy is being well cared for, but I know you want her with you now. Are you able to get updates from the Foster Mom over the next few months? I truly understand the wait...it stinks. I am so hoping to travel in Sept as well. We'll see.

I felt the same way with Lila. I thought that I was missing so much, but you can't beat yourself up over it. You wil see her learn so much in the first month home, just like with Gwen.
Trust me be thankful that she is in foster care she is being well taken care of. I have been so blessed that Lila has been loved so much by her foster parents. It has made the transition easy and hard all at the same time, if that makes sense.
I will be following your blog for tips on the journey to #2.

There isn't anything that can be said to lessen the tug you feel on your heart.

I hope everything in the adoption process of Maddy goes quickly and smoothly so you may bring her home as soon as possible.

Donna -

I'm praying for peace in your heart to know that Maddy is being loved and cared for until you can hold her in your arms and bring her into your loving family. She is such a beautiful little girl and she deserves to be home with forever family.

hugs -
Tonia

Oh, I can't imagine how hard it would be to have her picture for that long. The 7 weeks from referral to travel was hard enough, but nothing like what you are experiencing I'm sure.

I wonder if your agency could help you get regular updates from the foster family...I bet that would help. Taking the mystery out of the whole situation can ease the worries.
